1 /2 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla or nutmeg
1/4 c. milk
4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
Mix all the wet ingredients together then add the dry ingredients. Mix well. Let it still in the refrigerator overnight so you can better roll it out more easily.
Roll out not to thin. Preheat oven to 350'. Cook for 8-10 min. Let them finish cooking on the top of the oven on the stove where it is warm still and then remove from the cookie sheet to the cooling rack.
Creamy White or Chocolate Frosting
1/2 c. margarine or butter
1 egg (I don't put the egg in)
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. milk
4 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. cocoa (if you want it to be chocolate)
1 tsp. vanilla
Blend butter or margarine, egg, cocoa (if doing chocolate frosting) and salt; add sugar aternately with milk and vanilla mixing until smooth and creamy. Generously frosts 2 9 inch layers or 1 13x9 in pan.
It is so yummy and great on cakes.
